The slide show video below is a montage of a variety of eBay-type products which shows photos taken in a normal setting (before) and then the photo of the same product from the same angle using MyStudio. All of the 'before' photos are modeled after actual shots of similar products as we have seen them on sites like eBay, and all of the after 'photos' were taken with a standard digital camera (either a Canon Powershot or a Nikon D-50) by a regular person and not a professional photographer. As you view the photos, ask yourself how much more likely you would be to buy the product photographed with MyStudio versus the one with the regular photo, and which one you would be willing to pay more for?
More videos are coming down the pike including a 2-part instructional video on how to set up MyStudio 20from the time it arrives in the box to the complete set up to be ready for tabletop product photography. We are also working on a setup video for MyStudio 32 but that will be a little while longer. Additionally, there will be a series of Tips & Techniques videos which will show real products being photographed using MyStudio. We will begin posting those here as they are produced.

New MyStudio videos
Just finished some slideshow videos that show both MyStudio 20 and MyStudio 32 being used for table top product photography. This should help give viewers an idea regarding the size and functionality of each system and the variety of uses each one can be used for. Note the one photo of the MyStudio 20 being used to shoot crystal, the light is placed behind the MyStudio 20. This creates a back-lit effect and a darker gradient background that is especially useful when shooting glass or other translucent items that are normally hard to photography against a white background. This same technique was used to take the photo of the glass perfume bottles that I'll post in another video of before and after photos soon.

Product Photos from eBay Live! 2008
We had a great time at the eBay Live! 2008 tradeshow and as one might guess we had a huge amount of interest and made many on the spot sales to eBay sellers, both large and small. We had both a MyStudio 20 and a MyStudio 32 set up at the show and allowed people to bring a wide variety of items to photograph in the MyStudio to show just how easy it is to take professional quality photos with just a MyStudio tabletop product photography system and a standard point and shoot digital camera (we were using a 3-4 year old Canon Powershot). Many of the resulting photos can be seen below in the slideshow. To give you an idea as to just how easy it is to use, each photo in the slideshow took approximately 2-3 minutes to take and download to the computer.

Heading to eBay Live! 2008
We'll be heading to the 3-day eBay Live! 2008 tradeshow tomorrow. It is being held in Chicago from June 19-21. This is the 7th or 8th annual event that eBay has put on but they recently released word that there will not be a similar event in 2009, and that the next one will be held in 2010 in Orlando, Florida.
EBay Live! is supposed to have 150-200 exhibitors and 8,000-10,000 attendees. Most of the attendees are people who sell on eBay and are looking for solutions and connections to enhance their earning capabilities and streamline their services. We are going to show MyStudio 20 and MyStudio 32 tabletop photo studios and are looking forward to seeing how well it is received by an audience that can certainly benefit directly from MyStudio for their product photography.
We should be able to get some photos from the show and will post them here when we return.

How Important are the Photos on eBay Anyway?
MyStudio™ Is the Solution to Great eBay Photos
So I've heard the stats that on eBay over 4 million photographs are uploaded every day and nearly 85% of those photos are rated as "poor" in quality. This is actually great news! Why? Because it means that auctions with good photos will stand out all the more. If 100% of photos were great, then the competition for similar items would be that much more intense and making money would actually be more difficult. These stats are telling you that you have a fantastic opportunity to make your products stand far above the rest by simply providing high quality photos!
Ebay guru Don Lancaster says, "Photos dramatically add to the value of any eBay listing. Photos will usually make a 2X to 3X difference in bidder interest. They also very much up your [final] selling price and reduce the number of
times an item has to be relisted." This is especially true on high ticket items and collectibles where detail and accuracy are of the utmost importance to prospective buyers. Suffice it to say that if you are the least bit serious about making money on eBay, you need to take action to make sure your photos as good as they can possibly be.
So now what? Should you run out to find the best digital camera that money can buy? Are you wondering which spot on the floor or which bedspread in your house will provide the best background? How about lighting....should you use a flash? Maybe a fluorescent desk lamp or that lamp in the corner by the couch where you love to read? Pish posh. None of those things by themselves will ensure great product photos. You should actually do NONE of them and simply buy a MyStudio™ Tabletop Photo Studio which gives you a perfect seamless background and perfect lighting for you, and can be used to photograph most small to medium sized items. If you are selling collectibles and high ticket items, MyStudio™ can actually pay for itself within your first sale or two. Already widely used among model train collectors, virtually all MyStudio™ users reported more bidders and higher final sales prices than before they were using MyStudio™ for their photos. And best of all, in all likelihood you do not have to replace your camera! If your camera is less than 4-5 years old, it will
most likely work just fine with any MyStudio™ tabletop system. This is because the two most important elements in a good product photograph are a good background and proper lighting which are both taken care of for you by MyStudio™.
There will be more to come in the ensuing weeks and months about MyStudio™. We will be at the eBay Live! 2008 tradeshow in Chicago, IL June 19-21, Booth #964. We will have photos and stories to tell from the show that we will post here, along with more posts about how to use MyStudio™ and why it is a far better solution than the fabric cubes and other photo light boxes that you might find on the market.
